Insurance

All students must have a health insurance during their stay in Szeged. Many students prefer medical insurance from their home country, that is you have to pay for the treatment on the spot (in case of an accident or operation the costs can be enourmously high) and the money will be refunded by your insurance company.
If you take out a Hungarian health insurance Generali-Providencia, cost: approx. 120 USD per semester, payable in HUF) medical care is provided by the university doctors.
Insurance does not cover dental treatment, except for emergency cases, pre-natal and abortive treatment, cosmetic and rehabilitation treatment, alcoholic and drug cases, medical check-ups and HIV treatment.
If you buy medicine at a pharmacy you will be refunded 50% of the price.

The Generali - Providencia health insurance is valid only in Hungary.
