Application requirements differ for each degree program offered by the University for Szeged. For specific information on application requirements for a certain degree program, please contact the contact person for the specific degree program.
Regulations on a stay exceeding 90 days fall within the competence of national authorities, therefore there is no uniform routine among the Schengen Member States. Foreign nationals requesting entry to Hungary with a purpose of a long stay may submit a residence permit application. In case of successful application, s/he will get a visa authorizing him/her to a single entry for receiving a residence permit and to stay for maximum 30 days in Hungary. The decision on the residence permit falls within the scope of the regional directorates of the Office for Immigration.

Szeged is situated in the South-East of Hungary. It is easily accessible by rail or road from most major Hungarian cities. Budapest is 175 km away. The University of Szeged is located in the center of the city.

The University of Szeged would not be one of Hungary’s universities with a warm atmosphere and an institution that trains versatile people, were it not for the varied out-of-school activities organized for its students.
The goal of the different service providers of the University is to meet the demands of teachers, students and visitors. Our institute has an internationally famous library and conference chamber, but also has an IT-centre and an office for student services.
