Description of the programme: The aim of the programme is to train experts with a comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical issues of English studies and general topics of humanities and social sciences, enabling them to pursue their profession in a multifaceted, inter- and multidisciplinary way.

The courses provide thorough theoretical and practical knowledge and prepare students for participation in MA programmes in English and American studies. The programme offers two concentrations (one in American studies, the other in English studies) as well as specialisation in Business English and preparatory courses for a Master’s programme in Education (with TEFL as one of its majors). Programme requirements include the defence of a BA thesis.

In addition to English language training ( based on skills such as reading, writing, listening, presentation techniques and grammar), the programme offers a wide variety of courses in literature, linguistics, history and cultural studies, approaching these through a whole range of subject areas (such as media studies, semiotics, theoretical and applied linguistics, general and social history, and gender studies).

• Application requirements: secondary school leaving exam, English language proficiency – B2 level, English language examination (TOEFL/IELTS/ Other) - no separate entrance exam needed - certificate or equivalent document of advanced level language proficiency must be provided

• Tuition fee: 1700 EUR/semester
