The most modern University Library of Hungary operates in the building which unites nearly all the faculties’, institutions’ department libraries’ book stock, services and infrastructure. In the Southern region, this is the largest library, and regarding its collections, it is one of the most important public, scientific libraries in the country.
On the four open-shelves reading-room floors, there are about 350 000 books arranged according to their topics. There are further 1,5 million books and periodicals in the stock rooms. At the Study and Information Centre more than a thousand people can study simultaneously, thus this is the country’s most capacious studying area.
Computer Room
Our visitors can use 300 modern, extra fast computers with Internet access in the Centre where local and national online catalogues, subscribed databases and electric periodicals can be found.
University students can use the Computer Room for 12 hours with their student cards or university ID cards for free, while a limited number of computer cards, available at the Central Customer Service, are at the visitors’ disposal.
The computers in the Computer Room have basic office software. Furthermore, internet and printing is available from each terminal.
